Julia Ann Hensley, 74, of Elkton, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at her home. She was born March 28, 1952, in Stanley and was the daughter of the late Simon and Iva Burns Cubbage.
Julia was a loving and caring woman who enjoyed cooking for her family. She enjoyed planting her flowers each summer and playing card games. For many years she opened her heart and home, dedicating her life to babysitting. Many children passed through her doors and she loved them all. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Julia is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Teddy Hensley; three daughters, Amy Price and husband, Jeremy of Elkton, Misty Miller and husband, Jeremy of Elkton, Niki Craun and husband, Josh of Shenandoah; special daughter, not by blood but by love, Valerie Eppard and husband, Chad; three brothers, Ricky Cubbage, Buddy Cubbage, and Terry Cubbage; two sisters, Nancy Kisling and husband, Poogie, Becky Boyd and husband, Brad; six grandchildren, Autumn Biller and husband, Justin, Savannah Miller and husband, Jacob Payne, Hunter Price and wife, Samantha, Colby Miller and fiancée, Montanna Caruso, Trinity Craun and McKinley Craun, Addison Eppard, and Beckett Eppard; six great-grandchildren, Bentley Miller, Kaylee Biller, Kinsley Biller, Theo Payne, Aubrey Biller and Carson Price, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Cubbage and a sister-in-law, Dixie Cubbage.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2026, at New Life Gospel Church in Shenandoah with Pastor Jeff Lucas officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a fire department of your choosing.
