There’s a big deal now about what constitutes an “imminent threat” to the U.S. After all things are considered, the final decision rests with the POTUS, using facts, but judgement too.
Trump has been right about attacking Iran.
And in the course of the war, we discover, surprise, that the Islamists have been lying to the Infidels about the range of their ballistic missiles. So I think this revelation resets the prior timeline of a few weeks to destroy Iran, to a more open-ended “excursion”.
So skip sideways now, and how to decide when elected officials become an “imminent threat” to the U.S.?

Robert,
I believe in “For the people, by the people”. I believe in the “serenity prayer” I believe in the words of the plaque that I read daily that reminds me to “think deeply”, “speak softly”, “laugh a lot”, “love much”, “work hard”, “give freely”, and “be kind”. I calm my soul by trying hard to get others to think that this is not anything like the first the first 97 years. (1776 – 1873). I agree that history should never be never to be forgotten, but please come on with defending killing for the sake of preventing future issues makes sense.
Paula, while I don’t completely disagree with you, waging war in an effort to prevent future death to Americans is about the best possible reason to eliminate a hostile regime. But also, were you on here saying the same thing about Biden funding the Ukraine war? That’s killed a million Ukrainians alone.
Russia is killing Ukrainians. And Trump, since he’s Putin’s Puppet, told Zelenskyy that he’s on his own – don’t expect a penny from the U.S. under the Puppet. Just because Zelenskyy refused to provide “dirt” on Biden during that “perfect call.”
Yambo is all about revenge and retribution. You do realize that Russia is also aligned with Iran in their objective to kill as many U.S. troops as possible?
Jeff, What can I say? My Father was a Democrat/WWII vet/IBEW union member/volunteer fire fighter. My Mother was a Republican. My parents never discussed politics openly. I was in high school during the Vietnam War and amazed when a friend’s parents got involved in a movement to keep their son home safe. Maybe I’m just wondering who I would be if I’d been old enough to be a hippy. Maybe because I know I could never kill another human being. That’s why I HATE politics and I’m an Independent. I’m just an older woman who retired after working so hard for 50 years, struggling to pay to maintain my property and my health and well being. There are so many issues that divide instead of bringing people together. I don’t want to and can’t afford to walk away from Page County. I think scenically that I picked the right place to retire and I’m waiting for some peace between R & D (s) to allow me to just enjoy it while I can. I can only add that there has not been a President I’ve admired in my lifetime. I just wish more of them “did no harm”.
